Gateway Icon is a public work commissioned through a juried national competition by the City of Stockton for the redevelopment of the Airport Gateway corridor of South Stockton. It is the central focal point at the main intersection leading to the Stockton Airport. This work stands 40 feet above the street on a lushly planted hill designed by the artist in conjunction with City planners.
